Princeton – Daniel Roger Woodard, age 88, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, in his home of Princeton. He was born on July 28, 1934, in Johnston County to the late Luby F. and Addell Woodard. He is preceded in death by his two brothers, Tom Woodard and Nathan Woodard.
He was a member of Bizzell Grove P.H. Church in Princeton. He retired from the N.C. D.O.C. as an assistant manager in the meat processing department. Daniel was a loving and devoted husband, daddy, granddaddy, great-granddaddy and brother. He loved all of his family and enjoyed providing for them. He also enjoyed playing baseball and fishing in his younger years. He and his wife Nora Lee enjoyed their trips to the mountains each year. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. He will be laid to rest by his family in Bizzell Grove Memorial Gardens the next day.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years Mrs. Nora Lee Woodard; sons, Darrell Clay Woodard (Gwen) of Dunn, Randy Kurt Woodard (Tina) of Princeton, sister, Rachel Capps of Four Oaks, granddaughter, Kristi Spellman (Tom); great-grandsons, Johnathan Spellman and Duncan Spellman.
