Coats, NC: Mrs. Ernesdeen Wood Blackmon, age 95, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehab Center in Benson, NC. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM-Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson, NC. Dr. Adrian Dixon and Rev. Randy Beasley will officiate. Burial will follow in Harnett Devotional Gardens, Dunn, NC.
Mrs. Blackmon was born on September 5, 1927 in Johnston County, NC to the late Benjamin Joseph and Lattie Ether McLamb Wood. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Atlas Blackmon, daughter, Pansy Lenelle Blackmon Tarver, grandson, Atlas Wayne Allen, granddaughter, Diana Lee Allen, siblings, Marvin Wood, Felton Wood, Lena Lee, Gertrude Beasley, Dalton Wood, Gertie Lewis, Myrtie Strickland, Leonard Wood, Doris Beasley and Herbert Wood.
Mrs. Blackmon was a retired seamstress and homemaker. She attended Benson Pentecostal Holiness Church outside Benson, NC.
Survivors include her son, Ben Blackmon and wife, Robbie; many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, sisters, Margine Wood Dixon, Catherine W. Wood and husband, Eurtis, and Elizabeth W. Johnson; many loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:00AM-10:45AM, Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC.
