Selma- George Samuel Braswell, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at his home in Selma. Born in Johnston County on November 27, 1937, he was a son to the late Samuel Braswell and Margaret Ellis Braswell.

George was a member of Live Oak Baptist church in Selma. He was a Navy Veteran and served for 4 years. In his free time, George loved the ocean, to fish, and loved sports, specifically Duke basketball. He was a kind man who was said to have never met a stranger and he loved God and his family more than anything.

A graveside service will be held at the Sullivan Family Cemetery on Monday, May 23, 2022 at 11:30 AM.
The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, just prior to the service.

In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Vivian Braswell; son, Greg Braswell; sister, Betty Cobb; and brother, Ronald Lee Braswell.

He is survived by his daughter, Diane Narron and husband Doug of Middlesex; sons, Randy Braswell and wife Gwen of Selma; Danny Braswell and wife Terry of Princeton; brother, D.L. Braswell of Selma; grandchildren, Eric Narron and wife Lisa of Middlesex; Lorie Holland and husband Kevin of Middlesex; Cameron Braswell of Georgia; Ashley Cox and husband Jacob of Kenly; and 5 great grandchildren, Raegan Narron, Jackson Narron, Logan Narron, Kristin Holland, and Colby Holland.
