George Thomas Casey, 64, of Smithfield passed away at UNC Johnston Health on Sunday, April 23, 2023. He was born in Johnston County on October 16, 1958 to the late Gilbert Thomas Casey and Myde Woodard Casey.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Karen Keen Casey; son, Kyle Casey; daughter, Jessi Casey Kyle (John), sister, Pam Casey Johnston (Chuck); grandchildren, Kayden Kyle, Kensley “Sissy” Kyle and Kolby Kyle; nieces, Casey Johnston Dutton (Dave), Catherine Casey McKnight (Michael); nephew, Lieutenant Junior Grade John C. “Trey” Johnston III; mother-in-law, Rebecca Keen; sisters-in-law, Brenda Sasser (Steve) and Pam Keen (Gene Woodard); brother-in-law, Terry Keen (Kim Batten) and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Casey Funeral Home and Cremations.
The funeral will be held in the chapel of Casey Funeral Home and Cremations on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at 3:00 pm with the Reverend Duane Casey and Reverend Scottie Casey officiating. A committal service will be held at the Casey Family Cemetery at a later date.
Due to the recent liver transplant for Karen and Jessi being the donor, please wear a mask when visiting the family during the visitation.
