Princeton-David Glen Allen, age 72, died Wednesday December 29, 2021, at the SECU Hospice House with family at his side. He was born in Johnston County to the late David Roy Allen and Joyce Wall Allen on January 21, 1949.
Glen was a hard worker having many jobs over his life to support his family. He loved his family and was devoted to them. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and working at home. He could fix almost anything. He loved his wife, children, and most of all his 3 grandchildren who were the pride of his life: Amy, Jacob, and Joshua. He was a member of Pine Level Pentecostal Holiness Church in Pine Level.
Glen is survived by the love of his life, Diane Braswell Allen for 49 years; son, David Paul Allen and wife Carolyn; daughter Donna Allen Talton and husband Rob; and three grandchildren Amy, Jacob, and Joshua. He has three sisters, Evelyn, Mary, and Barbara, as well as special friends, Roy and Heidi Sullivan and long-time neighbor, Ray Little.
He was preceded in death by his parents and special Aunt Ethel Wall and Uncle Thelbert Wall and sister Jo Ann.
Special thank you to the Johnston Health Home Care and Hospice of Smithfield for their excellent care that they gave us during this time. They made Glen’s life so much easier.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 3, 2022 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bizzell Grove Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home just prior to the service.
