Howard “Dwight” Erickson, age 67, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024. Born on July 3, 1957, he was a son to the late Sven Erickson and Lottie Saul Erickson. Dwight graduated from Radford High School in Radford, Virginia in 1975, and from East Carolina University in 2010 with a BS in Industrial Technology. He served for 15 years in the Army and National Guard as Sergeant First Class, and went on to retire from Caterpillar Inc. after 24 years in Clayton NC. Dwight was enjoying his retirement with his wife, Terri, and loved sharing his excitement of gardening, fish keeping and football with his family.
Dwight did not wish to have any formal services, however, the family will be holding a gathering at a later date.
He is survived by his loving wife, Terri Erickson; sons, Rick Erickson and his wife Chas, Steven Erickson and his wife Sandra; Step-son, Richard Creech and his wife Melissa; brother, Andy Erickson; grandchildren, Alec Erickson, Levi Erickson, Justin Nixon and his wife Tamar, Zevan Nixon, Cierra Reynolds, Noah Alexander Creech, Adalynn Grace Creech; great grandchildren, Aceley Erickson, Alani Erickson, Graham Erickson, Jaxxon Erickson, Ayden Nixon, Bryson Nixon, Kennedy Reynolds, Emily Reynolds, and Riley Reynolds.
