J. D. Warren, Jr., died Wednesday evening, November 9, 2022 in Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. Born February 3, 1943 in Johnston County to the late J. D. and Nettie Rose McCray Warren and he was the widower of Patricia Ann Mitchell Warren, who died on February 27, 2014. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Randolph Warren, Danny “Frog” Warren and James Warren. J.D. retired from the US Navy as an Aviation Store Keeper.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2022 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with the Rev. Patrick Muston officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Selma Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., just prior to the service.
Surviving are his sons, Angelo Warren and his wife Carol of Rosewood, Jaydee Warren of Mt. Olive and Tyrone Warren of Goldsboro; daughters, Doretta Benson and her husband Robert Scott of Mt. Olive and Tyrenna Murphy and her husband Dwayne of Grantham; sisters, Becky Williams and her husband John and Wanda Tetrick and her husband Doug all of Selma and Debbie Coats and her husband Charles of Coats; twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
