James (JD) Debro Bass, 74, of Mt. Olive, formerly of Smithfield, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Sunday, June 4, 2023 at UNC Johnston surrounded by his family. JD was born May 16, 1949 in Johnston County. He was a son of the late William Henry and Maggie Thompson Bass.
The Funeral Service will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at the Casey Funeral Home & Cremations Chapel. Reverend Marvin Ownley and Reverend Vernon Braswell will be officiating the service.
Committal will take place at the Thompson Cemetery immediately following the service. The family will receive friends and family beginning at 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the Funeral Service at Casey Funeral Home & Cremations.
JD is survived by brothers, Herman Bass of Smithfield, Elijah Bass of Kenly, Charles Bass of Princeton, Billy Ray Bass of Princeton; sister, Mary Jane Parkton of Smithfield and numerous nieces and nephews.
