Selma – James “Jim” Oran Curtis, age 79, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022, in his home of Selma. Born, December 28, 1942, in Memphis, TN, he was a devoted son of the late James C. Curtis and Amalia (Molly) Hill Curtis and Father-In- Law, Ward Rummage. Jim was devoted to his loving wife of forty-four years Nancy “Bridie” whom he loved dearly. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and big hearted friend. He was a hardworking man and a man of his word, always. Jim was persistent in everything he did for his family and others. He was an avid boater, a wonderful chef and Big Green Egg grill master. He will be remembered as a wonderful man and will be missed by all his family and friends. Jim was larger than life to his family and friends, a trusted advisor and confidant. He worked for and retired from Uni-Lever Co. as an area sales manager.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 31, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
He is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Nancy Rummage Curtis and Children: James Kevin Curtis (wife Karen) of Richmond, VA, Cindy Dean (husband John) of Frisco, TX; Sherry Lynn Curtis of Troy, NC; James Roy Lynch (wife Anna Nicole ) of Wake Forest NC; grandchildren, John Dean V, James Dean, Josh Dean, Jack Dean, Savannah Lynch, Noah Lynch; cousin, Sharon Ann Morton (husband Johnny) of Dallas TX; and his loving cat Honey Rembrandt.
