Janie Capps Norton

Birth Date: 06/03/1935
Deceased Date: 09/03/2025
Janie Capps Norton, 90, of Selma, NC, was completely healed and went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 3, 2025. She was born on June 3, 1935, to Jessie and Elizabeth Adcock Capps.
Janie lived a full life of faith, family, and hard work. She held many jobs throughout her years and retired from Eaton Corporation. More than her career, however, she was best known for her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, her quick sense of humor, and the deep love she carried for her family. She had a gift for prayer, especially interceding for those who were lost, and she was never one to hold back her thoughts—always speaking with honesty and conviction.
A strong-willed woman, Janie raised four boys on her own, instilling in them strength, faith, and resilience. She cherished time with her grandchildren and cared for many of them as children. In her later years, her great-grandchildren became her greatest joy—always bringing a smile to her face and laughter to her voice.
Janie is survived by her sons Rodney Pyatte (Teresa), Jason Parrott (Leila), and Luther Parrott (Tina); grandchildren Ryan Pyatte, Josh Parrott (Olivia), Kate Santos, Luther Parrott Jr. (Angel), Katy Arthur Adcock (Chris), Adam Parrott (Kristy), Danielle Lee (Mel), Chandler Parrott (Julia), Christina Lee, Dakota Pyatte, Will Lee, and Spencer Parrott; and fifteen great-grandchildren: Mattie, Maryanna, Zeke, Christian, Bentley, Austin, Mason, Brodie Kate, Harrison, Violet, Cohen, Carter, Camden, Rosalie, and Penelope. She is also survived by her special bonus son, Ted Sohn (Janice), many beloved nieces and nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her son, Broderick Parrott; her parents, Jessie and Elizabeth Adcock Capps; and her sisters, Mary Ruth Williford and Annah Laura Harris.
A service celebrating Janie’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 8, 2025, at Parrish Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Clayton.
Janie’s life was a testimony of faith, perseverance, and love. Her prayers, laughter, and legacy will live on through the generations she so dearly cherished.
