Today we come to celebrate the life of our beloved, Jeremiah Fitzgerald Atkinson. He was born in Smithfield NC on April 7, 1979, to Delores Atkinson and Fredrick. He transitioned to his heavenly home in Pennsylvania on November 25, 2023.
Jeremiah attended Smithfield Selma Senior High School where he participated in JROTC. He later received his GED. He loved to cook, often being referred to as a “grill master.” He would also play street ball with his friends and neighbors and his all-time favorite NFL team was the New York Giants. Jeremiah has a big heart, he would help those in need as much as possible. He was truly a people’s person.
He was preceded in death by his cousin, Steven Williams.
He leaves to cherish his memories: Five children: Jamad Lynn Fitzgerald Atkinson, Kiara Mae Strickland, Jayarion Lee Martay Strickland, and Jaylin Reese Moore. His mother: Delores Atkinson, His father: Fredrick Atkinson. Three brothers: Fredrick Adams, Cedrick Atkinson, and Antwian Atkinson. Three aunts: Jeanne Williams, Annie Ruth Williams and Angel Pitt. One Great Aunt: Trudy Hoover. Six nephews, seven nieces, and two great-nieces. Three special cousins: Tonya Bunn Bunn, Sharia Ferguson, Dublin Nisty and Khaif Epps who was like a brother. A special friend: Tonya Davis. A host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
