Benson, NC: Mr. Jesse Clayton McLamb, age 84, of McLamb Road passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at UNC Rex Healthcare in Raleigh surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be held-3:00 PM Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. John Foister. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Benson.
Mr. McLamb was born on January 1, 1940 in Johnston County to the late David and Flonnie Morgan McLamb. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Malah McLamb, Grallon McLamb, Willard McLamb, Carlyle McLamb, Graham McLamb, Cleveland “Pete” McLamb; sisters, Rachel M. Raynor, B. Ethel M. Warren, Delitha McLamb, Doris M. Beasley, and Geraldine M. Surles. Mr. McLamb retired from McLamb’s LP Gas and Supply as a service manager after 40 years and also enjoyed working on his farm during his spare time. He was a devoted member of Holly Grove Advent Christian Church where he served on the Deacon Board for several years. Mr. McLamb loved his God and his family.
Anyone who knew Clayton knew that he was the most loving father, grandfather, and husband that a family could ask for. Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Louie Belle Johnson McLamb; children, Flonnie M. Wullenwaber and husband, Frank, Jessica M. Collins and husband, Steven; grandchildren, Brooks Wullenwaber and wife, Samantha, Kara Wullenwaber, Mason Collins, and Meredith Collins; great-grandchildren, Conner and Savannah Wullenwaber and Bella Polk; brother, Billy McLamb; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Holly Grove Advent Christian Church, 2050 Holly Grove Church Road, Benson, NC 27504.
