Jessie Mae Braswell Quick, born on December 5th, 1947, in Smithfield, NC, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family on Thursday, March 13th, 2025. Jessie was a devoted mother and grandmother, whose greatest joy in life was caring for her family.
Jessie’s love for her family knew no bounds. As a mother, she cherished her children and took great pride in watching them grow. As a grandmother, her heart swelled with pride and joy in the moments spent with her grandchildren and she always made sure they knew how loved they were.
In addition to her family, Jessie had a love for the simple joys of life. She found peace and happiness working in her yard, napping, or as she would call it, “resting my eyes”, surf fishing, and adding to her ever-growing pineapple collection that was a lifelong source of enjoyment.
She is survived by her children, Lynn Quick Jennings (Tim), Charlie Elias Quick II (Shannon), Leah Quick Pomykal (Daniel), and her grandchildren, Matthew Jennings, Andrew Jennings, Grace Mae Quick, Daniel Pomykal, and Cameron Pomykal. She is also survived by her two sisters, Linda Braswell Peace, and Faye Braswell Davis.
Jessie is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Elias Quick, her mother Ollie Mae Brafford Braswell, and her father Ralph Barden Braswell. She is also preceded in death by her brothers Eldridge Braswell and William “Buddy” Braswell.
