Selma – Jimmy Gray Raines, age 75, passed away Wednesday August 6, 2025 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. He was born in Johnston County on November 12, 1949 to the late Jim Raines and Rosalee Benson Raines. In addition to his father and mother he is also preceded in death by his brothers, Billy and Larry Raines; a sister, Faye Stephenson.

The family will receive visitors in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home on Sunday August 10, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 3:00 PM in the chapel.

Mr. Raines is survived by his son, Billy Raines and wife Jennifer; daughter, Christy Davis and husband Tony; wife, Denise Bite; brother, Randy Raines; sisters, Francis Woodell and Jean Carroll; grandchildren, Cierra Davis-Ricks and husband Tyler, Katlyn Raines, Gracie Davis-Munoz and husband Brandon, Emily Raines; step grandchildren, Wyatt and Willow Sox; great grandchildren, Juliet Raines and Brielle Ricks.

Jimmy was a proud Vietnam veteran and member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and ride his Harley. He was also a member of the Legion Riders and American Legion Post 109 in Benson, NC.
