Mr. John Rex Pope age 92 of Angier, NC passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM-Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home, Coats, NC. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Angier. Rev. Thadd McElreath will officiate.
John was born on August 13,1932 in Harnett County to the late James Furnie Pope and Vida Williams Pope. John was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Pope and his son, Johnny Ray Pope as well as his brother and sisters. John was a carpenter for many years. He enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing. John loved his family dearly and worked hard to provide for them. He will be truly missed.
John is survived by his son, Douglas Pope and wife, Glenda; daughter, Ann Bennett and husband, Don; grandchildren, James Pope and wife, Jana, Travis Bennett and wife, Cheryl, Teri Brown and husband, Chris, Kristen Bowen and husband, Rio, Kelley Duncan and husband, Ryan, and Kathryn Parker and husband, Kellen, Johnny C. Pope and wife, Amanda; eighteen great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 21 from 1:00PM – 1:45PM at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats and at other times at the home of Mr. John at 36 Fox Trot Lane, Angier.
