Jon Bartelle Beasley, 81, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023 at his home. He was born in Darlington, South Carolina, one of nine children, to the late Ulysses Kelley Beasley and Arthola Humphries Beasley on August 29, 1942.
Jon proudly served for seven years in the South Carolina National Guard. When Jon wasn’t working or spending time with family, he could be seen making sure his lawn was pristine, nothing out of place. He looked forward to his fruit trees and flowers blooming each year and made sure they had all the care they needed. Jon was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed the quiet thrill of a tug on the line.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 in the Kenly Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Westerfield officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.
Jon is survived by his wife of 60 years, Janice Mullis Beasley; daughter, Donna Pittman and husband, Mike; son, Jon Beasley and wife, Cheree; grandchildren, Evan Beasley, Haley Beasley, Mikayla Pope and husband, Jacob; great-grandchild, Benjamin Beasley; sisters, Patricia Boan and Shelda Dutton; and brothers, Merelle Beasley and Kenny Beasley.
