Joyce Hertha Eichelberger Young, 80, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on June 16, 1941 to the late Warren Mitchel Eichelberger and Ruth Emma Beckert Eichelberger.
Joyce was a devoted Christian and prayer warrior. She had many talents and was extremely creative. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed many pets especially horses throughout her life. She was a skilled equestrian. Growing up she was an accomplished acrobat and performed publicly. Joyce was the epitome of a self-taught woman. She was widely red, artistic, having excelled in oil painting. She taught herself to play piano and guitar, and these are just a few of the things she loved. She was on various worship teams through the years. She loved working for her food pantry and feeding all that she could. She was a Proverbs 31 woman. She will be dearly missed by her family leaving a void that can never be filled.
She is survived by spouse, James McFarland; sister, Noel Freer; children, Wendy Dufkin (William), Linda Hynes, Joseph Boehringer, Sean Boehringer, James Young, Stephen Young (Kelsie), and Brian Young; grandchildren, Regina, Andrew, Joseph, Abigail, Jacob, Caleb, Adriane, Stephanie, Elizabeth, Madeline, Gabriel, Rebekah, Jordan, Tyler, and Erika; great grandchildren, Aiden, William, Levi, Lorenzo, Benjamin, Joseph, Silas, Eli, Iris, Braelyn, and Avery.
