Smithfield, NC: Mrs. Joyce Marie Starling Norris, age 82, of NC-210 Highway passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 6, 2023at Smithfield Manor Assisted Living in Smithfield, NC. Funeral Services will be held-11:00 AM Friday, June 9, 2023 at New Life Fellowship Church (formerly Smithfield Advent Christian Church) in Smithfield, NC. Officiating will be Rev. Rick Overman. Burial will follow in Hills of the Neuse Memory Gardens in Smithfield, NC.
Mrs. Norris was born on July 8, 1940 in Durham County to the late Earl and Lois Bass Starling. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Landis Norris and brother, Tommy Starling. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Norris was a Nurse and worked at Smithfield Manor for many years. She loved her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons, Kenneth Scott Norris, Chris Norris and wife, Liz, and Jeremy Seth Norris; grandchildren, Justin Norris and wife, Hayley, Brittany Norris, Ashleigh Heller and husband, Aaron; and Joshua Norris; great grandchildren, Noah Creech, Caroline Marie Henry, Charlotte Norris, Stella Norris, and Ryleigh Heller; sisters, Judy Allen, Carol Renfrow, and Phyllis Ward; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM prior to the service at New Life Fellowship Church.
