Smithfield – Kenneth Edward Farmer, age 68, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023, in Wake Medical Center of Raleigh. Born, May 31, 1955, in Wilson County, he was a son of Willie E. Farmer and Dorothy L. Farmer. He is preceded in death by his father, Willie E. Farmer.
Kenneth was a hard-working man, he woke up early every day and was always working, even around the house. He was a loving and devoted husband, dad, and Pa. Kenneth loved his family very much, they were his pride and joy. He was a compassionate man, always willing to help anyone in need. In his spare time, he also enjoyed; camping, cutting grass, washing cars, watching westerns and of course taking care of his dogs. He was all around a good man and he will be missed by all his family and many friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. The burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. in the Cockrell Family Cemetery, 7699 Spencer Cockrell Rd. Rocky Mount, NC, 27803.
In addition to his mother, Dorothy L. Farmer, he is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Mrs. Kathy Norris Farmer, son, Kenny Wayne Farmer (Shelley) of Lillington; daughters, Amy W. Hodge (Tracey) of Selma, Tina W. Fields (Tyler) of FL, Jessica Williford (John Dean) of Elm City, brother, Rusty Farmer (Ginger) of Nashville; sisters, Cheryl Dean Elmore of Dunn, Patricia Ann Baker of Rocky Mount, Dorothy Lynn Bunch of Creedmoor, eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Flowers are acceptable, or memorial contributions may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
