Smithfield – Kenneth Russell Scott, age 83, left this earth to be with his Lord and Savior Friday December 2, 2022 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. He was born in Newcastle, DE on September 13, 1939 to the late Cecle Henry Scott and Helena Mayo Scott. In addition to his mother and father, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ann Scott; sister, Alice Diane Thornton.
A graveside service will be held on Monday December 5, 2022 at 3 PM in Selma Memorial Gardens with Rev. Roger Banks officiating.
Mr. Scott is survived by sons, Jeffery Scott of SC, Matthew Scott of MA and Timothy Scott of MA; daughters, Diane Norton of Kenly, Kimberly McClure and husband Warren of Alaska, Brenda Garner and husband Billy of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Dr. Kristen Jilg and husband Sascha, Kaitlyn Rusk and husband Eli, Karoline Aycock, Warren McClure II and wife Karina, Dakota McClure, Daniel McClure, Katrina Johnstone and husband Cade; great grandson, Warren McClure III; 1 great grandson on the way.
Mr. Scott proudly served his country in the United States Airforce during the Vietnam War as a pilot. After serving his country, he worked as a machinist and tool and die maker and also earned a degree in culinary school where he became a chef. He loved to serve the Lord with all of his heart.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Parrish Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
