Nieces and nephews: Marsha Herring, Michelle Herring, Matthew Thornton, Eric Thornton(Alycia), Nicole Warren(Dusty), and Brittany Williams(Walter). Several great nieces and nephews.

He was quiet and shy but had a smile that would light up a room. He would always say “hey” and wave even if he didn’t know you. He was loving and sensitive. He liked things in order and always put things where they belonged. He was observant and could remember where things were if someone misplaced them. He loved a neat and clean environment and swept the floor everyday.

Larry had many talents: He could twirl a basketball on one finger and keep it there for a long time. He loved any ball but basketball was his favorite. He won many prizes at the fair shooting the basketball. He could throw a football with precision. He could kick a soccer ball with a smile on his face. He loved to eat, especially country soul food. Fried chicken and potato salad were his favorite. He loved to eat steak and potatoes even after eating a bucket of popcorn at the movies. Taking him to a pizza buffet was a treat. He would pile his plate with pizza and eat it all. Mayonnaise sandwiches were his specialty. He always paired them with potato chips and Mountain Dew. His favorite pastime was watching Batman on his DVD player. Not the cartoon but the original Adam West features. He could be heard shouting “Batman” while watching the show. He loved books and wanted to purchase one every time he entered a store. He loved to ride and go anywhere, it didn’t matter the place. But he especially loved the beach. He visited the beach just a week before his passing. He attended the Adult Day Vocational Program for years. He loved the staff, classmates and his little job.

The family would like to thank Liberty Hospice of Clinton and SECU Hospice House in Smithfield for their loving care during his illness. The family would also like to thank the staff at Sampson Duplin Group Home for their years of loving and caring for Larry.

He loved going to church and singing loudly. He is now sitting at the feet of Jesus and singing his favorite song with the heavenly angel choir.

Larry was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.

Dunn Funeral Home of Newton Grove is honored to service the family of Larry Wayne Sutton.
