Smithfield- Lois Mae Strickland Davis, age 79, passed away at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. Born in Johnston County on March 13, 1943, she was a daughter to the late William Henry Strickland and Mamie Beddingfield Strickland.
Lois was a member of Carter’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Selma which she attended as long as her health permitted her to. Lois made her home at Smithfield Manor Nursing home for the last fourteen years of her life and she attended all of the activities that were provided to the residents.
Lois’ hobbies were crafts that she shared with friends and family. She loved all of her nieces and nephews and enjoyed spending time with them as she cared for them.
Lois is preceded in death by her siblings, Josephine, James Clyde, and Donald Milford.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 11:30 AM at Carter’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Selma.
She is survived by son, Randy Thomas Davis of Angier, NC; brothers, William “Bill” Yates Strickland and wife Joyce of Selma, NC; Jerry Wayne Strickland and wife Libby of Byrdstown, TN; sisters, Martha S. Grady of Selma, NC; Elizabeth S. Pearce of Chesapeake, VA; Gwen S. Bracknell of Winston Salem, NC; Joyce S. Edmundson of Fremont, NC; and many nieces and nephews.
