Mrs. Mamie Wilkins Godwin, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC, surrounded by her loving family. Graveside Funeral Services will be at 11:00AM- Friday, March 14, 2025 at Harnett Devotional Gardens in Dunn, NC. Randy Wilkins and Maxine Jacobs will officiate.
Mrs. Godwin was born on December 9, 1931 in Johnston County, NC to the late Jim and Christine Long Wilkins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Glenwood “Boot” Godwin, and her 8 brothers and 3 sisters. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, and the West Johnston Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include her children, Glenda Godwin Adams and husband, Bruce, Angela Bowden, Beverly Godwin, and Michele Godwin of Benson, NC; along with grandchildren, Morgan and Zachary Bowden; sisters-in-law, Betty Wilkins and Shirley Wilkins; many loving nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC, along with Pam McLean of Senior Helpers.
The family will receive friends after the graveside service, and other times at the home.
