Margaret Davis Tyndall, age 87, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024 in The Landings in Smithfield. Born July 28, 1936 in Lenoir County she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Bertha Tyndall Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Willie “Popeye” Tyndall, Jr.; and son, James Charlton Tyndall.
Margaret, along with her husband Popeye, owned and operated Popeye’s Gas and Grill for nearly 30 years. She was a member of Live Oak Baptist Church in Selma for many years. Margaret was a devoted Christian and a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 18, 2024 in Selma Memorial Gardens with Rev. Frankie Bass officiating.
Surviving are her sons, Craig Tyndall and wife Carol of Smithfield, and Clint Tyndall and wife Candace of Selma; brother, Charles Davis of Kinston; sister, Judy Grady of Deep Run; grandchildren, Shelby Tyndall Hayslip and husband Will, Skyler Tyndall, Zachary Tyndall and Jeremy Conner and wife Airelle; and great granddaughter, Vanna Hayslip.
