Selma – Marie Clearman Kadow, 79, of Selma passed away at UNC Johnston Health on Thursday, November 16, 2023. She was born in Vernon, Alabama on February 4, 1944 to the late William Clyde Clearman and Christine Moore Clearman. In addition to her parents, Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth “Ken” Thomas Kadow; brothers, Calvin Clearman, and Wade Clearman; as well as a stepson, Kenneth Kadow, Jr.
Marie is survived by a son, Benny Langston and wife, Wendy of Selma; daughter, Judy Langston Dixon and husband, Robert of Selma; stepson, Eddie Capps of Princeton; sisters, Lois Stephenson of Fuquay Varina; and Ruth Hillmann of Raleigh; 4 grandchildren, Chris Langston, Robbie Capps, Jamie Capps, and Regan Price; 4 step-grandchildren, Christopher Capps, Ashley Capps, Daniel Kadow and Christian Kadow; and 1 great grandchild, Addison Capps.
The funeral service will take place on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Casey Funeral Home and Cremations, 105 E. 1 st Street, Princeton, NC with the Reverend Chris Byrd and Reverend Lawrence Pounds officiating. The burial will be at Evergreen Memorial following the service.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Casey Funeral Home and Cremations. The family will receive friends at other times at the home of Bennie Langston, 260 Fitzgerald Road, Selma, NC 27576.
