Marjorie Eleanor Ward Wade, 84, passed away on Saturday, January 21,2023 at Springbrook Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Clayton. She was born on June 13, 1938 in Loudon County, TN to the late Homer Curtis Ward and Viola Elma Wilson Ward. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Curtis Ward.
Ms. Marjorie loved learning through books and education. She loved Theology. She preached at retirement homes and was a chaplain at Peabody Towers in Augusta, Georgia and also on occasion at the Joseph E. Price Center in Selma. She was a past member of Adamsville Baptist Church in Goldsboro and Yelverton United Methodist Church in Faro, NC. She loved her family very much. May she be remembered as a God Loving Soul.
She is survived by a son, William Betterton, Jr. of Selma; daughter, Rhonda Toler (Keith) of Garner; brother, Hoyt Barbee Ward of Rio Rancho, NM; sister Sharon Rose Jones of Augusta, Georgia; granddaughter, Tiffanie Noel Parson; 3 great grandchildren, Braxton Manes, Noah Manes, and Brad Lucas, Jr.; 1 great great grandson, Mason Lucas Manes.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at Casey Funeral Home and Cremations Chapel.
The Funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 28, 2023 in the chapel of Casey Funeral Home and Cremations with Reverend Shawn Willis officiating.
