Smithfield – Mark Lee Jones 65, passed away Wednesday June 29, 2022 with his loving children by his side. A native of Wake Co. he was the son of the late Arthur Jr., and Sara Dunnagan Jones.
Mark loved football especially Tarheel Football. He helped coach football at Cary High School and loved woodworking and building things for his family. He especially loved fishing, just get him to the water, put him in a chair and start pulling in the fish. Mark was a retired Firefighter with RDU Fire Dept. and volunteered with several departments since he was 16 years old.
There will be a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM Wed. July 6, 2022 at Raleigh Memorial Park, Mausoleum followed by a burial with Fire Department Honors at the grave at Raleigh Memorial Park.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Teresa Jones.
Mark is survived by his daughters; Melody Hart and husband Jack, Ashley Jones Griffin and husband Justin and Dana Jones; sons, Jeremy Jones and Dustin Jones and wife Megan; stepsons; Matt Carter and wife Ashley, Tony Carter and wife Rachel, James Woodall, Ben Woodall and wife Christy, Adam Woodall and wife Allison and Jon Woodall and wife Tori and 25 grandchildren and step-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday July 5, 2022 from 5-7 PM at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma, NC.
