PRINCETON – Mary Maynor Woodside, 87, formerly of Durham was called home on December 22, 2023 at Liberty Commons in Benson. She was born August 7, 1936 in Johnston County to the late Lacy and Irene McKellar Maynor and was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Moore, son-in-law Danny Stewart and grandson, Matthew Stewart.
Mary retired after over 40 years of service with Liggett & Myers Tobacco Company in Durham. Following her retirement, she loved working in her yard, rocking on her porch and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be remembered for being outspoken, quick-witted and her love of laughter. When her health began to decline, she moved to Princeton, NC where she was cared for by her daughter.
Left to cherish many fond memories of her are her children Julie Stewart of Princeton, Billy Woodside of Newport and Christy Rigsbee (Johnny) of Roxboro; grandchildren, Forrest Stewart (Lauren), Tyler Woodside (Ally) Erika Plachko (John), Ryan Beck and Chase Beck and two great grandchildren, Collette Plachko and Wright Woodside.
Mary requested no formal services.
