Mr. Maurice “Butch” Charles Sholes II, age 53, of Brewer Road passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at UNC Johnston Health Care in Smithfield, NC. Funeral Services will be held 2:00-PM, Friday, January 14, 2022 at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel, Four Oaks, NC. Rev. Mark Yow will officiate. Burial will follow in Four Oaks City Cemetery, Four Oaks, NC.
Mr. Sholes was born on March 26, 1968 in Coldwater, Michigan to the Maurice “Butch” Charles Sholes and Sue Burns White. He was preceded in death by his sister, Stacie Sholes. Mr. Sholes attended Topsail High School. Mr. Sholes worked for the North Carolina Department of Corrections for several years and then went on to work for Gideons Heating and Air for nearly ten years. Mr. Sholes was an avid outdoorsmen and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving include his wife, Phyllis Sholes; mother, Sue Burns White; father, Maurice “Butch” Charles Sholes and wife, Sharon; sons, David Sholes, Daniel Sholes and wife, Madison, and Michael Sholes; daughter, Leah Sholes Jenkins and husband, Bradley; step children, Jesse Nordfors and Brittany Nordfors; grandchildren, Ally Sholes, Caleb Sholes, Rylee Sholes, Luke Jenkins, Bayleigh Jenkins, and Jaxon Nordfors; sister, Michelle Sholes Johnson; step siblings, Brandi Bryant, Bradley Haste, Leslie Haste, Annmarie Parks, Mary Kay McDaniel, and George Bradley; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 14, 2022 from 12:30PM to 1:45PM prior to the service at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks.
