Paul Layug

    Birth Date: 08/18/1977
    Deceased Date: 01/09/2022

Paul Layug was a husband, a son, a father, and, most of all, a friend. Everyone was drawn to his outgoing personality and few could turn down one of his invitations to socialize. If you went you knew that you would have fun, but you were also very likely to be challenged in your thinking, and to learn something in the process.

His family knew this better than anyone because they spent the most time with him. Few children have had a father so committed to their education and excellence, and he was not afraid to enforce his high standards.

As a husband, he loved his wife, Lilet, fiercely and gently. There is not anything important that he wouldn’t do for her, and it was obvious to those of us who knew them, that the feelings were absolutely mutual.

If you knew Paul, you knew his family. Parents (Marty and Lola), his brothers (Al and Pete and their families), Aunties, cousins, nieces and nephews. Paul was not stingy with his family, his time, or his resources. He used these things to weave together an extended family which included friends, coworkers, and aquaintances.

While most men aren’t saints, Paul was smart enough to recognize areas where he could improve, and set about in his usual way, to attack those areas and try and force their submission. He started attending mass, realized how important the Sacraments are, and that was when he and his wife decided to get the Sacrament of the Holy Matrimony.

Paul passed away Sunday, January, 9, 2022, at his home, he was 44 years old. He is survived by his wife, Maria “Lilet”; his children, Russell, Jaicus, and Kelly; his mother, Norma; his brothers, Peter and Alex; and his best friends, Rick and Sonia Herrera, Andres and Olga Chupin; Mike Engeman.

Paul will never be forgotten by those who knew him because of all these reasons, but most of all, because of those special moments he shared with us, that made us all feel special. Rest In Peace our husband, father, son, and friend.
