    Four Oaks, NC: Mrs. Mavis Pearl McGee Johnson, age 84, of Elevation Road died Monday, May 6, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Elder Tony Parker. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Benson.

    Mrs. Johnson was born August 25, 1939 in Johnston County to the late Alton and Floy Velma McGee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Linwood Gray Johnson; sisters and brothers, Alice Cox, Eugene McGee, Robert McGee, Joyce Southerland, Merle Hodges, Brenda Taylor, James McGee, and Derle McGee. Mrs. Johnson retired from First Citizen Bank in Raleigh after 30 years in customer service. She was a member of Sweet Adelines and Southern Rain Band along with her siblings, Robert and Ken, and nephew, David Penny. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Four Oaks Primitive Baptist Church where she also enjoyed singing hymns with her church family. She loved to cook, entertain, never met a stranger, and had a beautiful contagious smile.

    Surviving are her daughter, Dawn Medeiros of Charlottesville, VA; son and daughter-in-law, Phillip Lynn & Pauline Johnson of Four Oaks; grandchildren, Spencer Missbach, Nicholas Johnson, and Coleton Missbach; brother, Ken McGee and wife, Debbie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    The family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson on Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 10:00AM to 10:45AM prior to the service and other times at the home.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Oaks Primitive Baptist Church, 1050 US 701 South, Four Oaks, NC 27524 or to Cardinal Hospice Foundation, 3884 Henderson Dr., Jacksonville NC 28546.
