Nancy Anne Crawford

    Birth Date: 10/21/1961
    Deceased Date: 10/26/2024

Nancy Anne Crawford, age 63, passed peacefully on Saturday, October 26th, 2024, at the Transitions Hospice House. She had just celebrated her 63rd birthday on October 21. Despite her difficulty with shortness of breath and pain, she celebrated with her daughter and two grandchildren by enjoying a Domino’s Pizza and cupcakes!

She was born and raised in Raleigh, NC and she spent summers helping on her grandma’s tobacco farm near Kenly, NC. She attended NC State University for some time and always wore a Wolfpack shirt proudly. She loved the beach, music, Mickey Mouse, jewelry, anything bright and colorful, buying clothes, watching Law and Order, and anything with an American Flag, peace sign, or hearts.

She worked as a roofer with her first husband and later helped with running her second husband’s car mechanic business. Though it took a few times, she found her sobriety through Alcoholics Anonymous. Unfortunately, she suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder and severe mental health disease. She fought through these battles until the very end. She leaned on worship music and the promises of God’s peace and love to find a way through the difficult times. She knew there was a better home awaiting her – a home on God’s celestial shore.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 2nd at 2 PM at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma, with graveside service at Bethany Missionary Baptist Church to follow. Visitation time will be from 1-2 pm at Parrish Funeral Home, feel free to wear anything bright and colorful, in memory of her stylish ways.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Crawford; her first husband, Richard Stoner; brothers Billy Humphries, David Humphries, and Danny Humphries; parents William “Bill” Humphries and Faye Batten Powell. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Potter of Raleigh, son in law, Kyle Potter, grandchildren, Emma and Jesse Potter; and daughter, Kimberly Crawford.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Transitions Hospice House of Raleigh, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607. A special thank you to Dr. Dunlap, who helped make the Hospice House possible. An extra special thank you to her nurse, Grace, who was clearly there by the sovereign grace of God.
