Newton Grove, NC: Mr. Orlando Gene Mitchell, age 54, of Randall Chapel passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham surrounded by his loving family. The Mitchell Family will hold Memorial Services will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 2:00PM at Randall’s Chapel PFWB Church in Newton Grove. Officiating will be Rev. Horace Johnson.
Gene was born on August 18, 1967 in Davidson County to the late James Albert and Janie Lee Jernigan Mitchell. He worked for Sampson County as a sanitation engineer for 8 years. Gene was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.
Surviving include his wife of 32 years, Mattie Mitchell; daughters, Tina Mitchell and husband, Eric of Princeton, Annie Mae Mitchell of the home, Angel Kramer and husband, Brent of Wisconsin, Emily Mitchell of the home; grandchildren, Weston Bailey, Waylon Gene, William Henry, Mason Lee; sister, Dottie Gonzalez of Newton Grove; brothers, Johnny Mitchell and wife, Brenda of Benson, Larry Mitchell and wife, Dale of Dunn; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM on Friday, March 18, 2022 at Randall’s Chapel PFWB Church prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Mitchell Family, 88 Randall Chapel Road Newton Grove, NC 28366.
