Benson, NC: Mr. Otha Edward “Ed” Parker, age 92, of Old Fairground Road, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at The Carrollton Nursing and Rehabilitation in Dunn. Graveside Funeral Service will be held-11:00 AM Friday, December 23, 2022 at Harnett Devotional Gardens in Dunn. Officiating will be Pastor Marshall Stewart.
Mr. Parker was born on April 19, 1930 in Johnston County to the late, Olen P. and Lela Kinsey Parker. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Retha Smith Parker; sister, Margaret Parker; and brothers, John L. Parker and Robert P. Parker. Prior to retirement, Mr. Parker was a self-employed accountant. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend.
Survivors include his daughter, Denise Parker; son, Garry Parker and wife, Teneka; grandchildren, Michael Suggs, Crystal Suggs, Amber Thompson, Austin Parker, Brittnay Newman, and Taylor Poulos; great grandchildren, Autumn Thompson, Addison Thompson, Ava Thompson, Willow Newman, and Eliana Poulos; sisters, Doris Langdon, Ruth Byrd, and Shelby Young; brother, Cecil Parker; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service at Harnett Devotional Gardens in Dunn and other times at the home of Garry and Teneka Parker.
