Pamela Wright Filicky

Pamela Wright Filicky, 75, of Smithfield, North Carolina, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Friday, September 5, 2025. Born on February 12, 1950, in New York, Pamela spent her early childhood in Venezuela, South America, where she lived with her parents, sister, and two brothers.
After completing high school in St. Petersburg, Florida, Pamela moved to North Carolina—a place she would call home for the rest of her life. She built a respected career working for Wake County GIS in Raleigh, retiring in 2015.
Pamela was a wonderful mother, a devoted wife, and a deeply caring person whose generous and kind spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures: baking pies and cakes, crocheting beautiful handmade pieces, reading a good book, caring for her beloved animals, and going on cruises to explore the world. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family.
She is survived by her loving husband, John Filicky; her son, Nathan (Kathryn) Adams; her daughter, Marisa (Marc) Allen; her two granddaughters, Eliana Criado and Gia Allen; her siblings, Priscilla (Harvey) Cohen, David (Pam) Wright, James (Kathy) Wright; and several nieces and nephews.
Pamela was preceded in death by her parents, Joan and Samuel Wright.
Pamela’s life was marked by warmth, kindness, and quiet strength. She leaves behind a legacy of love and care that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Pamela’s memory to Transitions LifeCare, the Dementia Society of America, or a local animal shelter.
