Ms. Patia D. McCullen, age 86 of William R. King Road, Newton Grove passed away Saturday, December 09, 2023 at her residence. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 12th at Pleasant Union Christian Church. The service will be held at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation 1 hour prior to the funeral service. She will be laid to rest in Hillcrest Cemetery, Newton Grove with the Rev. Frank Sandy and Debora Stilley officiating.
Ms. Patia was born on July 6, 1937 to the late John “Jake” Dunn and Pauline J. Dunn at the Harper House. She was a special woman, loving, caring and loved caring for the elderly. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother to many besides her own children. She went over and beyond caring for others. Ms. Patia was an amazing cook known especially for her applejacks especially at Pleasant Union Christian Church.
Left to cherish her memories are her children; Nancy Holland and husband David of Newton Grove, Danny Ray McCullen of Newton Grove, Donnie Coy McCullen and wife Susan of Montecello, GA. Brothers: Larry Joe Dunn and wife Bonnie of Benson and John Jacob Dunn and wife Sonja of Newton Grove. Grandchildren; Carolyn McCullen, April Greene and husband Adam, Matthew McCullen and Dillon McCullen. Special sister-in-law; Zelda Dunn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; John “Jake” Dunn and Pauline J. Dunn, husband; Dillon McCullen, a brother, Buck Dunn and her sister Paulette Dunn.
Flowers are welcome however memorials may be made to Pleasant Union Christian Church, P.O. Box 1, Newton Grove, NC 28366.
Pallbearers will be; Michael Williams, Dillon McCullen, Matthew McCullen, Jacob McCullen, Danny McCullen and Donnie McCullen.
