Peggy Joanne Jones Evans, 70, passed away at her home on Saturday, March 16, 2024. Born in Wayne County on March 29, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Edward Frank Jones and Peggy Pearce Jones.
In addition to her parents, Joanne is preceded in death by her husband, James Relmer Evans.
Joanne is survived by her children, Chris Evans and Shane Evans and wife, Miranda; grandson, Brandon Evans and wife, Brittany; great-grandchildren, Draven Evans, Sophia Evans, and Sydney Evans; fiancé, Robert Gordon; and brother, Ronnie Jones and wife, Patrice.
Joanne was a friend to all she met. Her sweet demeanor was evident to all, whether at home or in public. She was constantly working around the house, making sure everything was in its place. Joanne’s greatest love was that of her grandson and great-grandchildren. Her love for them knew no bounds and each moment spent together with them was a memory she cherished forever.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. at Upper Black Creek Church Cemetery. The family will gather at the funeral home prior to the service, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. for a time of visitation.
