Raymond “Shot” Barbee, 60, of Virginia Beach, VA passed away on December 27, 2022 following a brief illness. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM-Monday, January 2, 2023 at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson, NC. Burial will follow in Harnett Devotional Gardens, Dunn, NC.
Mr. Barbee was born on July 9, 1962, in Norfolk, VA to the late Lloyd Jefferson Barbee and Hazel Davis Barbee. He was also preceded in death by a niece, Rebecca Barefoot.
Shot was a 1980 graduate of Dunn High School. He loved all things sports, UNC, and music. He was happiest at the beach and moved to Virginia Beach in 1986. He spent many years in sales but loved umpiring ballgames. Most often you could find him at a music concert, watching sports or spending time with his friends.
He is survived by his son, Brad Barbee and wife Jordan, grandson Harvey Schneider, granddaughter Brinley Barbee, fiancé Kim Downing, brothers James Davis, Mike Davis (Brenda), Roger Davis (Sandy), and sister Audrey Stocking (Rob), and nephews Jeffrey Davis (Kelly), Steven Davis (Naomi) a niece Stacy Davis.
The family will receive friends from 12:15PM-1:45PM Monday, January 2, 2023 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC and other times at the home of Brad and Jordan Barbee.
