Rickie Lynn Radford, 66, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Wayne UNC Health Care. Rickie was born in Wayne County to the late Shorty and Ruth Radford on June 26, 1957.
Rickie worked many years as a truck driver for Goldsboro Milling Company. As dependable as they come, he was always on time and ready to go. No matter the need, family, friends, and coworkers knew that they could rely on him for help. He was always a phone call away, and willing to drop whatever he was doing to help anyone he could.
In his free time, he loved to watch movies, from new releases to old classics. Though he could likely recite his old favorites from memory, they were still just as good to watch as the first time he viewed them.
Family was the greatest gift for Rickie, and none held a higher place in his heart than his grandchildren. He loved each one dearly and enjoyed every moment he got to spend with them.
The family will have a time of visitation on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
Rickie is survived by his wife, Lorrie Wood Radford; son, Ricky Radford II (Michelle Blakely) and Chris Radford and wife, Rachel; daughter, Julie Ozdemir; grandchildren, Ricky Lynn Radford III, Aydin James Radford, Caylie Kathleen Radford, Ruthie Jaeden Radford and Natalie Lorrie Dilek Ozdemir; and brothers, Ronald Radford and Phillip Radford. Also a host of nieces, nephews and loved ones.
