Youngsville, NC: Mrs. Ruby Lee Rigsbee Massengill, age 87, of Holbrook Lane passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023 at Transitions Lifecare in Raleigh. Funeral Services will be held-3:00 PM Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Four Oaks. Officiating will be Mr. David Holbrook. Burial will follow in Pisgah Church Cemetery in Smithfield.
Mrs. Massengill was born on December 20, 1935 in Durham County to the late Otis and Ella Pierce Rigsbee. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert Arthur Massengill: sons, Randy Williams and Ronnie Williams; sisters, Bobby Williams and Hazel Beddingfield; and brothers, Otis Rigsbee Jr., Joseph Rigsbee, and Lucas Rigsbee. She enjoyed gardening, going to the beach, fishing, and loved cooking for her family. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Survivors include her children, Michael Jr. Williams, James Albert Williams, and Brenda Williams Holbrook; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren; brother, Larry Gray Rigsbee; sisters, Alice Williams, Sylvia Williams, and Betty Van Husketh; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM prior to the service at Rose and Graham Funeral Home.
