On Friday, December 30th, 2022, Russell Deal Hayden, loving husband, father, stepfather, and grandfather passed away at the age of 72.
Russell was born on January 6, 1950, in Portsmouth, Va. Russell was a well known carpenter by many, and retired after many years. Russell enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family. He loved music and collecting records.
Russell was preceded in death by his father Russell Sr., his mother Inez, his sister, Kathy, and brothers Wayne and Jimmy. Russell is also preceded in death by his loving and only son Jeffrey Wynn Hayden.
Russell is survived by his wife Mary J. Hayden and their grandson Logan Austin Hayden, whom he was blessed to raise as his own son for many years. Russell was also the stepfather to Patricia Jordan (husband Brian), Barbara Ahern (husband Dennis), William Britt (wife Renee), and his other beloved grandchildren, Tommy, Tyler, and Gracie.
Russel was also blessed to be survived by his remaining family of brothers and sisters and a host of nieces and nephews.
Russell requested no funeral service, only for his loved ones to celebrate his life. A celebration of life will be planned by the family at a later date and all loved ones will be notified.
