Four Oaks, NC: Mrs. Ruth B. Wood, age 85, of Devil’s Racetrack Road passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be 3:00PM Friday, August 25, 2023 at Pauline Baptist Church in Four Oaks, NC. Dr. Robert Cooke and Pastor Freddie Gooding will officiate. Entombment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Wood was born on October 26, 1937 in Johnston County, NC to the late Charlie and Ida Allen Beasley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank P. Wood; sisters and brothers, Lorene Wenzel, Milton Beasley, Molly Stewart, Floyd Beasley, Gearld Beasley, and Lin Beasley.
Mrs. Wood retired as a bookkeeper with the Johnston County Tax Office in Smithfield. She loved to read and spend time with her family especially her great-grandsons. Mrs. Wood was a member of Pauline Baptist Church in Four Oaks.
Survivors include her daughter, Debbie W. Warren and husband, Craig of Newton Grove; granddaughter, Brittany W. Weaver and husband, Adam; great-grandsons, Warren Daniel Weaver and Benjamin David Weaver; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 25, 2023 from 2:00PM to 2:45PM prior to the service at Pauline Baptist Church and other times at the home.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Pauline Baptist Church, c/o Janice Gregory, 2915 Lee’s Union Church Road, Four Oaks, NC 27524.
