NC 210 Bridge Opens

SMITHFIELD – On Monday, the NC Department of Transportation opened a new bridge on NC Highway 210 near Smithfield.

The two lane bridge over Middle Creek, near Swift Creek Road, was constructed by S.T. Wooten of Wilson.

NC 210 had been closed since June 2024 when the original bridge, built during the Great Depression, was demolished.

The $3.2 million project was completed about 2-1/2 months ahead of schedule.
