Smithfield, NC: Mrs. Ruth Lee Massengill, age 96, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at the Brian Center in Clayton surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services 3:00 PM- Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Four Oaks. Rev. Andy Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hills of the Neuse Memory Gardens in Smithfield.
Mrs. Massengill was born on October 19, 1925 in Johnston County, NC to the late Ira and Wilcey Lee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy B. “Tom” Massengill; and several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Massengill retired from Fieldcrest in Smithfield after 30 years of service.
Surviving include her children, Roy Lee Massengill of Four Oaks, Ricky D. Massengill and wife, Susan of Benson; grandchildren, Ricky Massengill, Jr. and wife, Sarah, Thomas Massengill, Christina LePorte and husband, Andrew, Roy Lee Massengill, II, Bradley Glenn Massengill; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Wilcey Thompson of Grantham, Nancy “Pinky” Thompson of Grantham; brother, Larry Lee of Tarboro; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00PM to 2:45PM on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks prior to the service and other times at the home of Ricky and Susan Massengill, 81 Parkers Pointe Drive, Benson, NC 27504.
