Shelby Jean Ballance Olive, age 86, passed away Wednesday evening, December 28, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born August 19, 1936 she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Laurrie Ellen Mozingo Ballance. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Olive and her half brother, Clarence Green.
Shelby was a long time member of Tee’s Chapel FWB Church where she sang in the choir for many years. In her retirement years, Shelby enjoyed quilting with “The Quilters” and was most happy when she was cooking and caring for her family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 1, 2023 in Tee’s Chapel FWB Church with Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Burial will follow in Overbee Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Sunday just prior to the service at the church.
Surviving are her children, Pam Daughtry and husband Steve of Princeton, Susan Woodall and husband Cecil of Smithfield, and Ronnie Olive and wife Janet of Smithfield; sisters, Mary Ellen McCarson and Josephine Olive Jennette, both of Smithfield; grandsons, Stephen Daughtry, Joseph Daughtry and wife Amy, Chuck Woodall and Will Olive and wife Hillary; great grandchildren, Abby Daughtry, Luke Daughtry and Winston Grey Olive; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
