Benson, NC: Mr. Sherwood Allen “Sonny” Morgan, II age 70, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022 at the Kitty Askins Hospice Home in Goldsboro, NC, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM-Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Benson Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church in Benson, NC. Rev. Glenn McCullen and Rev. Rick Kelly will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Benson, NC.
Mr. Morgan was born on September 23,1951 in Johnston County, NC to the late Sherwood Allen “Tom” and Katie Johnson Morgan. He was preceded in death by his sister, Cathy Morgan Peacock. Mr. Morgan retired from Johnson and Johnson, Chicopee/PGI with 48 years of service. For many years, Sonny was a Lay Preacher, spreading the Gospel of Christ. He was a member of Benson Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church in Benson where he served in many capacities.
Surviving include his wife of 26 years, Diana J. Morgan; daughter, Kelly J. Anderson and husband, Ashley; grandchildren, Madison Anderson and special friend, Matthew Miller, and Dawson Anderson; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM, Monday, May 16, 2022 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC and other times at the home.
