Terry Suvern Turner, 83, of Micro passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. He was born December 30, 1940 in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the late William Waldon Turner and Cumi Cole Turner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Lane Turner and a son, Brent Suvern Turner.
Terry owned and operated Turner’s Tire Service in Selma from 1972 – 2023. He was featured on Tarheel Traveler for his wide collection of hub caps. He enjoyed taking care of his dog, Penny, and his chickens and cats.
He also loved showing off his dance moves every chance he got. He was a member of Micro First Baptist Church and served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War from 1966 – 1968.
He is survived by daughters, Lori Britt (Jim), Christie Turner, and Tanya Gilchrist (Jamey); stepdaughter, Teresa Barnes; grandchildren, Nicholas (Sierra), Jordan, Leah, AnnaKate, Justin (Elizabeth), and Brittany; great grandchildren, Ryder, Jaisen, Georgia, and Brayden; pet companion, Penny; and special friend, Dottie Bryant.
A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Micro Memorial Gardens from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm with the Reverend Tim Stevens officiating. The family will receive friends after the graveside service at Micro Memorial Gardens.
