Thomas Elwood Jackson, age 85, went home to be with his Lord and Savior at WakeMed Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. A visitation will be held at Benson Grove Baptist Church of Benson on Monday, May 15, 2023, from 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Funeral service will follow at the Church. Interment to follow at Hills of the Neuse, Smithfield.
Thomas was a loving and giving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved spending time with family and special nephew, Billy Ray Jackson, and all other nieces and nephews. He was loved by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Louester Blackman Jackson and all of his siblings.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Glenda Turnage Jackson of Benson, son Russell Jackson (Cindy) and daughter Carrie Jackson Smith (Nick), seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. The service will be officiated by the Rev. Brad Thompson and the Rev. Billy Cashwell.
