Coats, NC: Ms. Velma Christine Baker, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM-,Monday, March 30, 2026 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC. Graveside Services will follow at 1:00PMon Tuesday, March 31, at the Hodges Chapel Church Cemetery in Benson. Pastor Eddie White will officiate.

Ms. Baker was born on December 5, 1943, in Johnston County, NC, to the late Felton Bennett Jackson and Christine Penny West Jackson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry O. Baker; siblings, Roy Jackson, David Jackson, Ray Jackson and Mittie Ann Partin. Ms. Baker was a homemaker who loved to work in her garden and loved flowers of all kinds. She loved art and painted when life and family allowed it. Ms. Baker loved going to the beach and would collect shells off the beach when ever she went. Her greatest joy was her husband and family.

Survivors include her children, Tammy Wall, Michelle Maynor and husband, James, Larry Keith Baker and wife, Beth, Terry Baker, Sonja Martinez and husband, Roger, and Jamie Baker; grandchildren, Justin Gardner, Anthony Maynor, Matthew Maynor, Lauren Edwards, Megan Morgan, Alison Decker, Zachary McCauley, Austin McCauley, Tara Baker, Brian Baker, Bohdi Presley, Jena Presley, Lillie Baker, Layne Baker and Landon Baker; great grandchildren 9; sister, Shelby Pearsall.
