Waylon “Bill” Archie Williams Jr., 80, passed away at his home on Sunday September 24, 2023. Born in Norfolk, VA, he was the son of the late Waylon A. Williams Sr. and Rosalyn Boykin Williams. In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his sister, Faye Ramer.
Bill grew up on a farm just outside of Kenly. He was a 1962 graduate of Kenly High School. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was thankful for the opportunities that the Army provided for him. For many years, Bill worked as a carpenter. While not working, Bill could be seen traveling with his wife, Anna, in their RV enjoying Bluegrass Music Festivals. While at home, Bill would often be outdoors bird watching.
Per Bill’s request, there will be no formal service.
Bill is survived by his wife, Anna Marie Franz Williams; sisters, Carolyn Crocker and Judy Carter; and many nephews and a niece that he loved dearly.
